Getting help with your Audioflow

Troubleshooting

Cannot Setup your Audioflow Wi-Fi / App

If the Audioflow was previously setup to a different Wi-Fi Network (eg was used by someone else / purchased from eBay etc) then you will need to reset the Audioflow.

If you are starting to setup your Audioflow but unable to complete the process please make sure you do not have any VPN software on your phone.  Also, be sure to not be near devices which may be blasting out a Wi-Fi signal such as Sonos devices in Setup Mode (Green Flashing Light).

If you are still having trouble during the setup process, you must ensure you have Location enabled on the device you are using to setup the Audioflow. We use the ‘location’ permission to detect if you are connected to the Audioflow Wi-Fi Network, we do not actually find or collect your physical location.

No audio output

If you have no audio output out of one of the zones of your switch:

  • Please check all of your connections
  • Please check that your Audioflow is powered on - without power, all output is off
  • Please check that you do not have a zone turned on which does not have any speakers connected to it – if you have a spare zone on your switch we would recommend that this is disabled in the Audioflow app so that it is not accidentally enabled.

I have an AT&T Router and cannot connect to my Audioflow

There are some AT&T Routers such as the BGW320 which only give IPv6 Network Addresses to some devices (such as iPhones) and then do not always route traffic correctly to devices with IPv4 Network Addresses (such as Audioflow).

In the settings of your router, please disable IPv6 in the LAN Settings and then everything will work perfectly fine.

If you do need further help with this please contact support.

I cannot connect to my Audioflow on a Guest / IoT Network

Unlike many smart home devices, Audioflow works locally and does not communicate over the Internet (aside from checking for firmware update or the Alexa function).

Your phone running the Audioflow App talks directly to the Audioflow on your local network and this means it must not be blocked by the Audioflow being on a Guest / IoT / Other different network with routing or firewall restrictions in place.

When a zone is turned off, there is still sound

This would happen if your wiring is incorrect. Please carefully double check your wiring scheme is as per the legends printed on the back of the Audioflow Switch, especially the polarity and wiring scheme of the incoming amplifier connections. You can view some wiring examples on the connecting your Audioflow support page.

The volume changes when I turn zones on and off

Yes this is perfectly normal and is a side effect of how Audioflow is designed.  We have not used any resistors or transformers in the audio path so we are not zapping any of the energy of your amplifier and typically have a very transparent audio quality.  However, the downside of this design is that volume may change as you turn zones on and off.  How much this volume changes will depend on the power characteristics of your amplifier, the sensitivity of your speakers and the size of your room.

I have three zones on, and one is louder than the others

This is a side effect of the series parallel matrix we are using to keep your amplifier happy.  With the 3 Way Audioflow you may find that if you have all of the zones on at the same time, Zone A is a little louder than B and C.  With the 4 Way Audioflow when you have three zones on at a time one may be louder than the others.  If this is a common scenario in your home you can use the removable speaker connection plugs to rearrange your zones to a configuration that works for you.

The switch is operating erratically on it's own

The touch controller in Audioflow can be subject to interference, in particular from being next to poor quality power supplies and also Samsung One Connect TV boxes and these can cause this issue.  We would also recommend that your Audioflow is connected to your Wi-Fi Network to receive the latest firmware and best touch button calibration values.

My amplifier is tripping out

This can be an issue if either:

  • You have a wiring issue where your cables may be slightly touching such that it short circuits the amplifier
  • Your speakers are not 8Ω or your amplifier does not work down to 4Ω in a 3 Way or 4 Way Audioflow system. Be wary of speakers which give a "minimum impedance" value (such as Bowers & Wilkins); you should take this minimum value into consideration rather than the nominal value.
